No, it wasn’t deliberate to be a Show HN itself, it seemed to be auto updated to that based on the prefix. I’ve tried updating it back.

Thanks for the reply. I'd strike that part of my comment if I could. Consider it taken back.

You can, click 'edit'. Up to one hour after posting.

I can edit the post and delete that part, but this would make OP's reply seem out of context. But HN markup does not support striking. I put some HTML tags there anyway, the sense should be clear.

Just mark your edit 'edit:'. I often have the same happen where I write a comment and then think 'oh, that's no good, I need to improve on it' and then in the meantime multiple people will comment and hopefully quote the original. That way at least you can see what they replied to rather than the version that I'm finally happy with. I've suggested HN increase the default size of the reply box but so far no takers on that.

I didn’t submit it that way, it got auto massaged into that format because of the ‘Show HN’ prefix I believe

The Show HN prefix is submitting it that way.

I’ve moved over to using vhs https://github.com/charmbracelet/vhs

Looks cool, but produce GIFs? Asciinema is text based IIRC.

The name is the downside of Asciinema IMO. Can’t help but read it as ASCII enema, which is funny, but not what I want think about. Just call it tty-player or something…

Did someone say titty player?

Touché.

vhs can also create video files: https://github.com/charmbracelet/vhs#output

But the brilliant thing about Asciinema is that the output is just text (JavaScript). You can pause it and copy text from it if you need to, and the filesize is basically nil.

VHS offers a declarative approach with .tape files that makes terminal demos reproducible and version-controllable, plus it generates GIFs without requiring a browser to view the recordings.

My kids would love that process. I’d likely only have the patience to do it once though

Is this the same as what we have in Australia with ‘The Access and Assistance bill’?

Sounds like it to me. I contend that Australia was the guinea pig, and with very little furore did that pass, therefore it's also ready for the US public to eat in the face and keep on smiling.

You can add Apple toolchains to that list also

Cheers for calling this out. Passed it on and Jinju has updated the links

I've heard that the mobile developer supply in Melbourne is extremely limited. What salary range are you offering?

Someone is going to have bad analytics for this link. utm_medium=email&utm_source=prodlnch&utm_campaign=introducing_lookup_from_twilio_20150331&utm_content=prdlnch

Yes. Yes we will. :'(

A filter to exclude referrers from ycombinator.com would offset some of that.
