Well, whatever he's calling himself, I think the article is pretty cool. NFC is a protocol I'm interested in but know nothing about so this is interesting and helpful.

Thanks, I'm happy you like it!

What sort of payload throughput (in bit/s) can you get out of this, in a pinch?

With the packet size set to 255 bytes, you can get about 1.5 KB/s (~ 12 KBit/s).

If you root your phone and patch the NFC stack (see: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=76598) you can probably get much more.

But it's definitely not going to be a pleasant browsing experience. :-)

Not as bad as "Bespoke." The banks took bespoke and ran with it. They started calling Synthetic CDOs, Bespoke CDOs. These instruments arguably caused the last financial meltdown and housing crash.

It's a twice divorced derivative. CDOs hold debt instruments (like mortages.) Synthetic CDOs will hold other CDOs. A big pile of legos.

In summary, fancy wordship is usually deception at heart.

In summary, just call yourself a "Software Engineer" guys. Leave out the Rockstar, Superstar, Craftsman, Prodigy, etc.

Amen, utterly ridiculous adjectives are an embarrassment to both yourself and the profession.

The same could be said for programmers calling themselves "Software Engineers".
