Way back in the day 3G was supposed to solve every issue with mobile data. Then we had to have 4G because it was faster. This is just another step up. Just like when you got high speed internet. At some point why does someone need gigabyte speeds when a much slower speed will allow you to do 95% of what any normal user would need?
I think wireless data speeds is the new arms race tbh. The interesting thing is Verizon is not upselling you for 5G and AT&T is. Plus AT&T was sued saying they had 5G in areas they really didn't and now this article claiming their speeds in certain cities are faster than they actually are.
The real question is, how many people will switch because of this issue and over selling it on their part?
