Hi Canon!

Thanks from increasing my list of examples why people should no be so condescending of proprietary firmware.

I don't think condescending is the right word here. Can't be sure without knowing your intent, but do you mean something like "should not be so accepting of proprietary firmware"?

Yes.

Condescending is used when you describe someone who thinks he is superior to others.

TIL! False cognate. I'm not a native speaker. In Portuguese there is the term "condescendente" which means "indulgent, one who doesn't imposes discipline". What is the equivalent term in English?

I’d use accepting, though it is bland. Trusting might work as well.

Considerate or Accepting both work in English.

lenient, lax, permissive, accommodating

BTW also a Portuguese speaker and this particular false cognate gets me almost every time, but the other way (using it in Portuguese with the English meaning in mind)

The actual correct translation would be "acquiescent"

You talk me a new false friend in Spanish, so thank you!

Greedy, perhaps?

yeah! Canon thinks it is superior of us to disable our scanner whenever its ink runs out.
