This is an interesting article. While it seems to be set up to elicit emotions either on behalf or against each side of the mis-match - its hitting on a very real element of todays labor market.

Even in high paid technical talent or those with advanced degrees, there is almost always an information gap that make the hiring process less efficient and slower. One of the reasons that hiring through referrals or your network is so effective is by definition the contact is likely to know more about what you are looking for and what the company is like. Companies that have been able to attract top talent through great brands, pay or reputation are having to figure out ways to convey why exactly they are a great place to work in new ways.

One of the reasons we built Kiter https://www.kiter.app/ was to arm job seekers with as much readily available information as possible and an effective platform to use it. Having talked to applicants at all levels and stages of a job hunt I do not think this is a phenomenon isolated to folks wanting to work from home with extended weekends.
