A friend of mine actually found it very useful, and I think it helped him get into selfhosting on Fedora and RHEL. Now he mostly uses Ansible but I remember hearing a lot about cockpit during the start of his journey. He would use it to manage VMs, containers, and get a better grasp of SElinux denials.
